St. Joseph's Husband of Mary & Canyon Gate Wedding | Jaquelyn & Ivan: Pastel Blues and Vegas Heat
Once in a while, the fairy tale love that little girls dream of, comes true for a few lucky couples. This is one of those couples. The bride is gorgeous and kind while the groom is secretly hysterical and charming. With those qualities at the base of this relationship, their wedding was blessed from the start. Overall, I would say this wedding would fit perfectly at the ending of a Disney princess movie.
To say the day was hot would be an understatement. Vegas heat in July is a makeup melter, but it never dampened the spirit of the event. One of my favorite parts of the day was the couple's dog (major dog lover). He was so well behaved and adorable in his little doggy suit when posing with his human. He also gave the sweetest puppy kisses and was the perfect model when a treat was around.
Instead of a first look, the couple requested a "first touch". Prior to being hidden for the ceremony, the couple had a moment together in the courtyard of the Parish. They kept their eyes closed and only touched fingers. I think it definitely helped calm their nerves and was something I've never photographed before; which is rare after 12 years. It was another sweet moment in the hundreds that would become the day.
I want to give a shout out to the couple's wedding team! From the table decor to the bridal bouquet, everything was Pinterest worthy! (Make sure to check out her vendors at the end of this post). I love how easy and calming the pastel blue color scheme was. It was a cooling touch to the 110+ degree heat outside. Sometimes summer wedding colors are bright and loud, but the blues were very representative of the softness of this couple. I might be stealing some ideas for my own wedding next year!
There is one thing I was not expecting from this wedding and that was the giant party that the reception ended up being! Knight Sounds Entertainment was the perfect choice for this group because they wanted to dance the night away. The guest with the GK fan was a crowd pleaser! Although the bride was being twirled around and around during the money dance, she kept that energy up like she was wrangling 1st graders in a classroom. It was effortless to capture the animation of all the guests as they memorialized the day and the bride and groom. Then all cameras came out as the groom surprised the bride with a personal performance of latin songs with his groomsmen as his backup dancers. Such a blast!
Enjoy and Cheers!
