Known for its vibrant colors, vintage Vegas charm, and truly one-of-a-kind photo backdrops, this venue is a favorite for couples who want to break tradition and celebrate their love in a way that’s anything but ordinary.

As a born and raised Las Vegas wedding photographer, I’ve had the joy of capturing love stories at the Neon Museum for years—and it never gets old. Whether it’s a full wedding, an intimate elopement with a small group of friends, or just portraits before heading to your reception, this spot delivers unforgettable vibes and incredible imagery every single time.

What is the Neon Museum?

The Neon Museum is an outdoor museum dedicated to preserving iconic Las Vegas signage from the past. Think: vintage casino signs, retro fonts, and oversized marquee letters that ooze character. The smaller space, known as the North Gallery, is where most weddings and photos take place, offering endless visual interest from every angle.

Whether you’re a Vegas local or planning a destination wedding, the Neon Museum sets the stage for something seriously special!

Why Couples Love the Neon Museum in Las Vegas for Weddings & Portraits

1. Show Stopping Backdrops Around Every Corner From the giant red “Lady Luck” sign to the towering Hard Rock guitar, every backdrop tells a story. Couples love how dynamic and colorful their images turn out—and your photos won’t look like anyone else’s.

2. Retro, Artsy, and Totally Las Vegas This venue is perfect for couples who appreciate design, love a little drama, or want to lean into Vegas flair without going full Elvis. You’ll find signs from old hotels, iconic casinos, and forgotten gems—each full of texture, color, and light.

I’ve photographed elegant black-tie ceremonies, fun and funky elopements, and bold, fashion-forward couples—all in this one amazing location.

Tips for Planning Your Wedding or Photo Session at the Neon Museum

1. Book Early This venue is popular, and for good reason. Dates—especially weekends—book up quickly. You can choose from full ceremony packages or book the Boneyard for a photo session only. The staff is great to work with and will help you choose the best option.

2. Plan for the Light Most of the timeslots available for private shoots are during the mid part of the day. This means mostlikely you will have some "high sun" light for your photos. Although "high sun" has a bad reputation for being harsh light (which it is), a true professional photographer will know just what to do to guarantee you will still have amazing photos! Tips for you - bring along those iconic heart shaped sunglasses and plan on being cuddled up nice & close for some poses to protect you from the direct sun. Oh & "high sun" means you will get gorgeous blue skies and the most vibrant colors coming from the signs!

3. Think About Your Outfit The colorful backgrounds here can handle bold fashion statements or sleek minimalist looks. Jewel tones, red lipstick, sharp tuxes, and flowing fabrics all photograph beautifully here. Vintage-inspired details and Vegas glam always pop! You can definitely push your fashion choices here.

4. Keep It Intimate Because of space and permit logistics, the Neon Museum is best for smaller weddings or elopements. But don’t let that limit you—the emotional impact is huge. Your ceremony feels personal, the backdrop is unforgettable, and your photos will be iconic. Time effeciency is a must however with a 30 minute - 1 hour timeslot so make sure to communicate with your photographer your must haves images or create a timeline to make sure nothing is missed. This is especially true when you bring a group because your time can get eaten up pretty fast if you are juggling personalities.

Why I Love Photographing weddings at the Neon Museum

The Neon Museum is a dream for photographers: every inch of it is photogenic. But beyond the visuals, I love how it allows couples to be fully themselves—whether that’s stylish and sophisticated or playful and quirky. There’s space here to celebrate your personality, your story, and your love in a way that’s genuinely memorable.

My style as a photographer is a mix of capturing authentic moments with fun, guided posing. I’ll help you feel relaxed and confident, and I’ll make sure your photos feel natural, not overly posed—so you can enjoy every second of your celebration while getting gallery-worthy images.

Thinking About a Neon Museum Wedding or Elopement?

If you’ve been scrolling Pinterest or Instagram and dreaming of something different, this is your sign (literally and figuratively) to consider the Neon Museum. Whether you're planning an elopement, vow renewal, or full wedding day with a twist, this place delivers big on personality, charm, and unforgettable imagery.

📍Located just north of downtown Las Vegas right off the freeway, the Neon Museum is easy to get to and pairs perfectly with a Fremont Street reception or dinner celebration.

There are two main spaces to consider here: The Main Boneyard and The North Gallery.

The North Gallery – Small but Mighty

The North Gallery is the more intimate (and more budget-friendly) of the two, but don’t let its size fool you. This is where the Lady Luck sign lives—a favorite ceremony backdrop for many couples. You’ll also find the Mega Jackpot World marquee, which can be customized with your names if you book your ceremony here (how cool is that?). And let’s not forget the vintage Horseshoe Casino sign that brings some extra old-school Vegas vibes.

The Main Boneyard – A True Vegas Time Capsule

The Main Boneyard is the showstopper. It’s where most of the museum tours happen because it’s packed with more signs and deeper layers of Vegas history. Think the iconic Hard Rock guitar, the massive Stardust sign, and even the magical lamp from the old Aladdin casino. If you're all about those “WOW” shots, this is the place to be.

So, How Much Does it Cost?

This is one of the most common questions I get—and for good reason. It’s not your average photo spot or wedding venue.

For Weddings:

  • The Sweetheart Package – $2,500+This one-hour ceremony package is available from September through May and allows for up to 35 guests. Perfect for an elopement or micro wedding with a splash of vintage flair.

  • Full Weddings (4-hour timeline) – Starting at $10,000 If you’re envisioning a more traditional wedding timeline, with time for setup, ceremony, and a catered celebration afterward, that’s where the higher investment comes in.

For Photo Sessions Only:

  • Private Shoot – Starts at $400 for personal use which includes weddings, engagements, anniversaries, etc.

    • Note: You cannot use these images to sell or promote a business/product. Nevada residents and Neon Museum members may qualify for a discount.

    • You & your photographer will also need to fill out a form online and agree to the museum’s strict photo policies before the shoot.

Example: One of my local couples recently spent $300 for a 30-minute private shoot in the Main Boneyard. It was worth every penny!

  • Portrait Hour (Shared Space) – $50–$75 per adult - This is the most affordable option, but it's a bit of a wild card. The museum chooses the dates/times, and you'll be sharing the space with others. That means you might not get access to every sign you want, but it’s still a great way to get that Neon Museum magic on a smaller budget.

Final Thoughts

While the Neon Museum may be a little pricier than your average photo spot, the experience is unmatched—and the staff is some of the friendliest in all of Vegas. They’re always present during shoots to help out and make sure things run smoothly. If you're after something bold, nostalgic, and uniquely Las Vegas, this might be the perfect place to say “I do” or just capture your love in lights.
